GHQHA Scholarship

GHQHA is pleased to announce the inception of its scholarship program. We will be awarding (2) $500 Scholarships on July 1, 2025. The winners will be announced via phone/email and be posted to the GHQHA website on July 1, 2025.

Criteria for Consideration:

• Be a student who will graduate from high school in 2025 and enter a Texas accredited U.S. college in 2025.
• Shall be a member of GHQHA in good standing.
• Shall have the same horse/rider combination all year.
• Present a written essay of 500 words, single spaces, size 12 font, using Times New Roman.
     Subject of the essay: “What does the horse industry mean to you and how can/will you further it?”
     The essay should be informative and persuasive.
• Participants must perform 6 hours of service for GHQHA. Parents/legal guardians may contribute 2 hours, provided the child is present and assisting. Work hours begin at any time and shall be coordinated with the GHQHA President.
• Application shall be submitted via email or may be presented to any board member, prior to performing work hours.
• Candidates shall participate in any 2 GHQHA events.
• Application, essay and work hours shall be completed and submitted via email to [email protected], no later than June 1, 2025.

Any changes, selection of winners and disbursement of funds shall be approved at the discretion of the board and their decision shall be final.
